The Sea Point Promenade is one of Cape Town’s most lively attractions and Sea Point’s most famous landmark. This paved walkway along the beach-front is also called the “Prom” by many. It starts at Mouille Point near the Waterfront and runs along the water’s edge through Sea Point.

The Promenade is also one of the best places to watch a stunning Cape Town sunset.

It is also a great place to observe the city’s multicultural character as it brings together joggers, cyclists, skaters, dog walkers and those who simply want to stroll to witness and enjoy the beautiful views.  Considered as the hub of urban entertainment, Sea Point is filled with pubs, nightclubs, coffee shops and eateries along the Main Road.

The Sea Point Promenade is also a child-friendly destination, making it perfect for some fun family activities. There is an outdoor gym en route, as well as kids’ playgrounds and putt-putt. The Promenade is also a prime site for public art displays. A number of public art installations called Art54 were established to coordinate public art projects between the City, the Municipality and artists. With its trademark red-and-white candy stripe look, the Mouille Point lighthouse is also a highlight of the Promenade.

In the southern end of the promenade is the Sea Point Pavilion swimming pool which opens every day and offers a 50m Olympic sized pool, 2 kids’ pools and a diving pool with a 5m board.
