Sunsets are the most stunning natural spectacles. They color the sky from red to orange, to pink or purple.
From long stunning beaches, beautiful lookout spots with incredible sunset views across the city, to higher peaks that overlook the Cape Peninsula – Cape Town has countless photogenic and breathtaking sunset spots. One of which is the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range. These twelve easily distinguishable buttresses not only form a dramatic backdrop to the scenic drive along Victoria road, they also offer a breathtaking view of the peninsula and city. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the mountain range is a great location to witness an epic Cape Town sunset.
Head out for a hike or take the scenic sunset drive along Victoria road for a beautiful Twelve Apostles sunset. There are a number of spots along the road to park and enjoy the magnificent sunset. A popular sundowner spot along Victoria road is the Leopard Bar at the Twelve Apostles Hotel, where you can sip on a cocktail while taking in the panoramic view of the sun setting over the Atlantic Ocean.
Watching the sun disappear below the horizon is a great way to end a very tiring day in Cape Town.
