The Rietvlei Nature Reserve is a beautiful wetland area in Milnerton. It also includes a freshwater lake. There are 102 different bird species that frequent the wetland, with 70 of these regularly visiting the area each year. It’s a bird watching paradise!
The vlei is also perfect for water sports. Windsurfers and sailors flock to the lake on a nice windy day. Or try out a variety of walking trails through the wetland. You can hike to the bird hide for a good lookout spot, it can seat up to 20 people. It’s a great spot to admire the pretty spring flowers as well.
