The Cape Town Pride 2020 dates are February 14 to March 1. The theme is ‘True to You – Be Who You Are’. This focuses on the necessity to embrace all of your individuality, despite your orientation, age, race, or faith. It aims to unite everyone over their differences, and help bridge any divisions that may exist in society.

In the lead up to the incredible Cape Town Pride Parade, there will be a 10-day festival, which will include a host of exciting events catered to various tastes.

#Cape Town Pride Proms

Cape Town Pride Proms is not only one of the top and most incredible events and things to do in Cape Town in February, it is truly a momentous occasion too! On Thursday night (the 17th of February) Cape Town Pride will host a glorious and glamorous celebration for the VERY FIRST TIME ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT – The Cape Town Pride Proms 2022! If that isn’t both significant and spectacular, we’re not sure what is!

This glamorous night of music will undoubtedly be one of the highlight events of the Cape Town Pride 2022 calendar, with the glittering night becoming an annual event and joyous celebration, showcasing local talent.

Modelled on the world-renowned BBC Proms, the Pride event will feature the full Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra accompanying both well-known singers and new talent, as well as feature the Cape Town Youth choir.

#Pride Roller Disco

Get your groove on at Rollercadeza’s first ever Roller Disco!

Rollercade is the 1st indoor roller-skating amusement park in Cape Town. Providing a safe and friendly environment for the entire family to enjoy roller-skating, a game of pool or just to sit back and enjoy the music.

The time has come to crown a new Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride 2022. This year, Miss Gay Western Cape, MVT Productions and Cape Town Pride Festival have once again joined forces to bring you a spectacular evening.

Contestants will compete in 2 categories, Swim Wear and Evening Wear, before a new King and Queen will be crowned.

It’s time to celebrate Cape Town Pride 2022! OUTReach Africa hosts Cape Town Pride and multiple LGBTI+ events in Cape Town and surrounds. Pride provides a platform for every part of Cape Town’s LGBTI+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, questioning, intersex, non-binary, asexual, polysexual, genderqueer, and gender variant people) to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow them to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. 

The annual Cape Town Pride Parade through the heart of the CBD gives everyone a chance to be visible and speak loudly and proudly to the rest of the city about what they have achieved, how far they have come and what is still needed. This is one event that should be celebrated by ALL in every way!
