As South Africa has been battling a third wave of COVID-19, a new adjusted level 4 lockdown has been implemented for a period of 14 days, ending on the 11th of July 2021. For restaurants, the adjusted level 4 lockdown restrictions include no sit-down service, only takeaways and deliveries are allowed, a new curfew of 9pm to 4am with closing time at 8pm, and a ban of both on-site and off-site alcohol consumption.
There is no doubt that the restaurant and hospitality industry has been hit tremendously hard during South Africa’s various lockdown stages and restrictions, with many struggling to stay afloat. This makes it more imperative than ever for us all to support our local restaurants however and wherever we can during this time.
