In July 2023, Cape Town was even voted the Greatest City on Earth in the Telegraph Travel Awards which is a testament to the city’s diverse attractions, including its stunning natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and world-class amenities.

There are so many highlights and activities to discus it is hard to know where to start, and because of the in-depth nature of this post it will be a work in progress continually being added to and updated.
To start with we will discuss Cape Town’s beautiful beaches as it is one of the main reasons people journey to Cape Town.
Cape Town Beaches
Cape Town’s most famous beaches include Clifton and Camps Bay, and with good reason, they are spectacular.
Clifton Beaches
Clifton Beach is a collection of four breathtaking beaches, each boasting white sands, turquoise waters, and its own distinct personality. These beaches, which are protected from the strong southeast wind that blows in Cape Town throughout the summer, provide an ideal respite. Clifton 4th is the most well-known, featuring a younger, touristy audience and amenities such as a lifeguard tower & clubhouse, and an energetic environment. Locals frequently favour the calmer Clifton 2 and 3, but Clifton 1 is good for picnics and has peaceful locations on its rocky outcrops. Each beach is connected by steps, making it easy to find your favourite. A great idea is to take a walk along all four beaches to see which one is your favourite.
Camps Bay Beach
Camps Bay is one of Cape Town’s most popular beaches, famed for its large crescent-shaped shoreline and lively atmosphere. While its golden sands are ideal for sunbathing, the beach is also popular among volleyball & touch rugby players, particularly in the evenings and on weekends. The far-left corner, protected by rocks, provides a more peaceful swimming area. Across the road, Camps Bay’s strip of shops, restaurants, and hotels offers an excellent opportunity to have a dinner or cocktail while taking in the ocean vistas and magnificent sunsets, resulting in an all-encompassing beach day experience.
